Hill Station post monsoon are always scenic so we all planned for the group trek to Matheran Hill Station which is only 120 Km from Pune and take around 2.5 hrs to reach via NH4 or Mumbai Pune Expressway.

Matheran Hill Station is one of the scenic and huge hill station which give a breathtaking nature views and scenic greenery post monsoon.

How to go Matheran Hill Station from Pune:

1. Travel by hiring a cab from pune and reached the base from where you will get a taxi to the top of hill station (tourist cabs are not allowed but personal vehicle can be taken on the top).

2. Travel with train from Pune and get down at Karjat, and take local train till Neral which is the nearby railway station for Matheran Hill Station from where you can catch taxi to reach on top or take a toy train from Neral to Matheran which is available all season except monsoon. Taxi from Neral to Matheran charge 70rs per person.

Trek mates from left Navin, Sampada, Vishal, Azeem, myself, Musarrat, Shubhangi who joined on the sudden plan for one day trekking to Matheran. It is totally impossible to cover the whole hill Station points in one day as no vehicle is allowed after Matheran Station entry either you need to take horse ride to cover all the points.

We started from Pune on 14th September 2014 at around 7.30am due to the delay by the cab driver and reached Karjat chowk at around 10:30am and stopped for wada pav breakfast.

After trekking for almost 3 km on the railway trek we which matheran Bazaar peth which is famous for shopping and yummy food.

Khandala point was the first point which we visit after crossing the Matheran Market place. This place is less popular and have number of langurs families which roam around you all the way from start to end of the point.

As we had only day we excluded one tree and Alexander point and directly trek to Charlotte Lake which is around 1.1 Km from Khandala point and it one of the famous Lake on the top of Matheran Hill Station.

Lord point was the next destination which is is the famous tourist point with scenic valley view and waterfall in Matheran Hill Station. This point is around 1.5 Km from Charlottle lake and have scenic jungle trail.

After spending around 1 hr near the lake which was totally breathtaking and we proceed for Cecil Point which was one of my favorite point whenever I visit Matheran. This point have a picturesque valley view and the stunning view of Malang point.

King George point is the next point after cecil point which is on the way towards Echo point. This point have a magnificent view of water and scenic valley all around.

After King George point we visit Edward point and Echo point. Echo point was the scenic point and it too had sound echo from the leftmost corner of the point.

Malang Point is one of the scenic attraction of Matheran which have a beautiful views of the hill ranges and valley surrounded by the point.

This is the must visit place in Matheran hill station to have a nature views and enjoy trekking in the deep forest.
