Ladghar Beach – Dapoli, Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra
18:50:00
Ladghar Beach, Dapoli is a small stretch of beach separated from Karde beach by a rocky stretch. The northern end of Ladghar is the rocky stretch with finer sand and the southern side has rough sand and the beach extends on to Burundi.
A road-trip in the middle of summer towards the beach no less sounds almost insane but Ladghar beach was on my travel list from long time after we had a beautiful bike trip to Karde beach in 2015. So we planned for a quick weekend ride nearby Pune but due to summer we went to Mahabaleshwar for a quick breakfast at Mapro Garden then changed the plan to visit the beach and finally landed to Dapoli, Ladghar beach for a perfect weekend ride.
Ladghar is located about 8 kms from Dapoli bus depot. After taking the Dapoli – Anjarle road towards sea side we crossed Dapoli town then took left turn from Burundi police chowki and Konkan Krishi Vidyapeth and continued along the road until we reached the signboards to hotels in Ladghar. After taking the left turn we reached Ladghar beach. Be careful if you are driving car as road are too narrow.
Ladghar beach is famous for multitude of shades of red and orange a part of the Arabian Sea changes into, off the shores in the evening, hence Ladghar is also known as “Tamas Theertha”. Ladghar beach has grainier sand instead of the cement like fine sand one would find at other beaches in Dapoli.
Ladghar is the best beach to enjoy an evening in Dapoli by the beach. Also it is most popular beach in Dapoli after Murud, Karde and Harnai beach. Dolphin watch rides are one of the most popular activities among tourists near Ladghar beach but spotting a dolphin is a matter of chance in morning! Parasailing and water sports like water scooters are available in Ladghar and are very popular with travelers in Ladghar.

By Road:
Road Distance or driving distance from Pune to Ladghar Beach is 207 Kms via Tahmini Ghat, 194 Kms via Bhor Mahad Varandha Ghat, but we took via Mahabaleshwar Poladpur and Kashedi Ghat which is 224 Kms but too scenic route.
