Yadavindra Gardens Pinjore Chandigarh - A Mughal Garden of Haryana

On the start of our Shimla trip, we first planned to visit Pinjore (Yadavindra) Garden in Panchkula district on Chandigarh-Shimla (Ambala-Shimla) national highway 21. Pinjore Garden is one of the must visit place and an important tourist attraction that one can visit when on the holiday to Chandigarh or going towards Shimla from Chandigarh.
This place is situated around 22Km from Chandigarh and 15Km from Panchkula.
This fascinating Mughal Garden is renamed as "Yadavindra Garden" in the memory of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh former of the princely state if Patiala. Main attraction of this garden is stylish Sheesh Mahal (Palace of glass), the Rang Mahal (painted palace), and the cube like Jal Mahal (palace of water).
Many people visit Pinjore garden to spend some quite time and enjoy the beauty of nature and view great architect. Especially at weekends, fountains are switched on after sunset, lights pick up the beauty of the palaces by night.
If you walk straight down till you arrive at a huge pavilion, which gives a marvellous view of the entire garden. The pavilion also has a terrace with water body located in the centre. It have a cool, shady walks and standard pathway which make the garden most attracted and beautiful.
There are special programs which are arranged at the Yadavindra Garden for the Baisakhi (Spring) festival in April and for the Mango festival in June and July.

It was designed by architect Nawab Fidai Khan and built by rulers of Patiala dynasty in the 17th century. He planned the Gardens on the classical Charbagh pattern, with central water way and both side of the waterway were covered by patches of green bordered with flower and shades of tree.
