Himalayan Wildlife Zoo in Kufri, Himachal Pradesh

On our trip to North India, we visited to Himalayan Wild Life Zoo in Kufri also known as Himalayan Nature Park or Kufri Zoo. It is situated around 18Km from Shimla (on Shimla-Kufri-Chail road) and spread over 90 Hectares which forms a natural habitat for many wild animals of the Western Himalaya.
As per the local this place was not good for tourist as it does not have any animals but after visiting, it found to be untrue as it has wide varieties animals including Black and Brown Bears, Musk Deer, Tibetan Wolf, Leopard Cat, Sambhar, Crested Kaleej and Silver pheasant,Red Junglefowl, Himalayan Monal.
This pictorial signboard display near the entrance gives a brief idea about the different kind of birds and animals that can be seen in the Park enclosure. The reception area has a ticketing counter along with space which sell posters and greeting cards with pictures of the wild fauna.
Best time to visit this zoo from April-June and October-December and the zoo timing is from 10:00AM to 5:00 PM.
The park symbolizes eco-tourism and also protects some rare and endangered species of plants and animals.
