Kundalika Valley - A Mystic Mountain near Tamhini Ghat
22:24:00
Tamhini Ghat and Mulshi Dam region is one the place which comes alive during monsoon. Almost everyone in Pune plan to visit it in monsoon. Kundalika valley came into my mind after searching for Andharban Trek (The Dark Forest) and I was told as it is a strange place with two huge mountain walls separated by a narrow valley.
I had never been there, so on a pleasant weekend me and my friend (Javed) made it finally. The valley was all hidden behind clouds. Clouds plays hide n seeks all the time.
We started at around 10:30am in the morning. As the road condition of Tamhini have improved a lot which make the bike ride enjoyable and smooth.
The moment we take the turn towards the valley, the climate changed. Small lines of road surrounded by dense forest on both side and trees making it darker, clouds surrounded by, making it more pleasant ride. Also crawling of unusual bird all around and the chirps of the birds were amazing.
I don’t remember experiencing something as spectacular as this during any of previous monsoons ride. We sat there for a long time to watch the scenic valley. Below are few pictures and a video at the last.
We parked the bike near the parking point and started towards the edge of the valley. It is just few steps away from the parking point.

All we saw were the marks of waterfalls with little water. Soon rain started for few minute and turn the place into mystic valley. Since wind was blowing hard and the clouds were directing and moving at the enthusiast speed. It clears the valley for some time then quickly covers up again the next moment.
