Day Trip to Lingmala Falls in Mahabaleshwar
20:52:00
Mahabaleshwar is one of the must visit weekend gateway near Pune, which has multiple options like Fort (Purandar fort), Valley (Tapola- ‘The Mini Kashmir’), Lake (Venna Lake) and Waterfall (Lingmala waterfall).
Last time we visited Mahabaleshwar it was summer season so we skipped Lingmala waterfall. So this place was first in the list for this monsoon season and finally we managed to plan a quick day trip in this monsoon season. Road conditions are not that great during monsoon in Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar due to heavy rainfall in this area.
Lingmala waterfall is in Panchgani area, there are proper steps built which take you right up to the falls and it is 20-25 mins of walk. It is a magnificent waterfall with lovely view of multiple valleys. The best time to visit Lingmala waterfall is July to October during monsoon season. During the entire rainy season it has a great flow of water and full of natural beauty and pleasant climate.
After entrance, there are proper directions which lead you to two main attractions as Chota Dhabdhaba (Small waterfall) to the left and Bada Dhabdhaba (Big waterfall) to the right.
We took the left turn first to visit the Chota Dhabdhaba; this is the originating point of the waterfall. It is a clean pond where many small waterfalls meet and people enjoy bathing and having a break here.
It is the best opportunity to get wet and drench in this waterfall. If you are planning to enjoy the shower in this water flow, first visit this place and bring your towel and changing clothes with you.
After spending some time we went on the other side of the waterfall for Bada Dhabdhaba and followed the stairs-route to trek the top of the waterfall, from where everyone just enjoy the scenic views of Bada Dhabdhaba (Big waterfall) that descends from the cliff and eye-soothing green valley along with a series of waterfalls.
