Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra (meaning 2½ days) is a large and impressive structure in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan, India. It is a famous mosque that exhibits a perfect fusion of Indo-Islamic architecture and is adorned with calligraphic inscriptions ever since it was built.
We visited Ajmer in winter by train from Mumbai, covering Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra, Ana Sagar Lake and local shopping in a 2 days trip. Ajmer is a city in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan and south of the city's artificial Ana Sagar Lake is Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the domed shrine of the Muslim Sufi saint Garib Nawaz.
Ajmer Sharif Dargah is a famous Sufi shrine of Moinuddin Chisti located in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. It is 2 kilometer away from the main central Ajmer Railway station and is situated at the foot of Taragarh hill. It consists of several white marble buildings arranged around two courtyards, including a massive gate known as Nizam Gate and the Akbari Mosque, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra is built into a hillside and is a mosque complex. It is one of the oldest mosques in India and the oldest monument of Ajmer City. It is hardly 400m away from main Dargah Sharif entrance and it is relatively calm place compared to crowds of Ajmer Sharif Dargah. There are plenty of traditional sweets and shopping store to enjoy the delicious sweets and family shopping which you can’t afford to miss it.
Next we headed towards the beautiful Ana Sagar Lake which is an artificial lake that spreads far and wide with the town of Ajmer. It was laid out in the twelfth century and is worth a visit to see the line of elegant white-marble pavilions called baradaris, or summer shelters. These were built in the 17th Century by Shah Jahan on the lake’s banks, in a garden by the name of Daulat Bagh. It is one of the best option to spend good evening time by lakeside and one can enjoy boating also.
