Thoseghar waterfalls in Satara during the monsoon

As monsoon is the best time of year to visit Western Ghats and Hill station near by Pune to view breathtaking waterfalls and scenic greenery which attracts most of the tourists to Pune.
Thoseghar is one of the famous picnic spot for waterfalls in Satara, which is around 153 Km from Pune, which can be easily travel by bike if you love long drives.

We started from Pune at around 8am and visit the Thoseghar waterfalls at 12:00pm. Road to Thoseghar from Satara was incredibly scenic and it goes from the edge of the mountains. Below are some photos of my trip.

After Thoseghar waterfalls we visit Chalkewadi wind farm which is around 2Km from Thoseghar waterfalls.
We always love travelling back from different route so select the most scenic route which we have ever seen via Satara-Mahabaleshwar State Highway. This State Highway was much better than the NH4 with potholes.

After enjoy the yummy sandwich at Mapro Garden we left back for Pune.
This was the majestic ride of appox 400Km following from Pune (Wakad)–Satara–Thoseghar waterfalls–Chalkewadi windmills–Mahabaleshwar (Mapro Garden)–Pune.

Best time to visit this place is mid on monsoon(from August) till the end of monsoon(in October/November).
