Arthur Seat, Echo, Kates and Malcolm point of Mahabaleshwar

Arthur’s Seat is popularly known as the Queen of all the points in Mahabaleshwar; it is named after Sir Arthur Malet who lost his wife and daughter in a disastrous ferry accident in the Savitri River. After that, he used to sit here staring at the river and wish for their coming back to life. The point is perched at the height of 1470m above the sea level and 600 m above Konkan coastal strip.
Arthur’s Seat point is considered to be the one of the most beloved trekking spots for the adventure lovers, who can explore Window Point and the Tiger’s spring which is the source of Savitri River. Also it the only place from where tourists can see the geographical difference between the Konkan and Deccan territories of Mahabaleshwar. It offers the amazing views of the Savitri Valley on the left and Brahma-Arayana Valley on the right. Arthur Seat is famous for floating of light objects in air, hence you will find small vendor selling bottle caps.
Arthur’s Seat point is a collection of almost 6 points together, like Arthur’s Seat Point, Echo Point, Hunter Point, Tiger Spring Point, Window Point and Malcolm Point. It is located around 13 Km from Mahabaleshwar Market and it take around 30 mins trek/walk to visit all the places near Arthur’s Seat point.
After visiting the Sydney and Venna Lake point, we headed towards the Kates Point to enjoy the scenic view of Krishna River Dam. Later visited the famous Baba’s Café at Kates Point, which is famous for the Strawberry with cream and many other items. This cafe is famous and have multiple Bollywood celebrity visiting this cafe either for shooting or on a vacation.
After having snacks at Baba's Cafe we visited the Needle Hole Point which is the view of Elevated terrace of Kates Point. It is a must visit place of Mahabaleshwar.

The best time to visit Arthur’s Seat in Mahabaleshwar is in Monsoon and winter season from June to Feb when the place gives extreme natural beauty to enjoy the best of this place.
Tourist visitors coming in their own vehicles may need to pay a toll at Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, and a receipt is valid for 7 days from the date of entry.
