Kas Pathar - Flowers valley in Maharashtra

Kas Pathar or Kaas Plateau is one of the scenic plateau of flowers in Maharashtra, which have numerous variety of wild flowers that come into view post monsoon season in the month of September to October.

This place seems to be more scenic few years back when it had less visited but now it has turned into a bare land with very few variety of flowers this year. 

After seeing few beautiful landscape photo in Google, we planned to visit this post monsoon on 12th October 2014 and find this place beautiful but very few flowers were witnessed. This place is also scenic in the month of monsoon as it has picturesque landscape on the way from Satara to Kaas Lake.
How to reach Kaas Pathar from Pune
Travel on the way towards Pune-Bangalore NH4 highway towards Satara till Mahabaleshwar exit and traveled more 35 Km till you find Satara village road on the right. Drive till the end of the village on the left side till you find a tunnel on the left. The road from the tunnel go towards Thoseghar waterfalls, Sajjangad fort and Chalkewadi windmills and road towards right just before the tunnel got towards Kaas. The road condition from Satara to Kaas plateau is simply amazing and in good condition. Just after few 15-20 Km on the plateau you will find Kaas Pathar main gate to view flowers. It has 3 gates 2 on the left and 1 on the right where you will find wide range of flowers on both side.

This is a small pond on the left side of the Kas Pathar if you are facing towards the Kaas Lake road and this is the most scenic and must visit place on Kaas Plateau.
