Mandvi Beach - A Tourism Hub of Kutch Gujarat

Mandvi beach is one of the pristine beaches in the largest district of India, Also famous for its century-old trade port and the famous Indian fast food “Dabeli”. Today, the beach has its own tented accommodation for visitors as the palace is becoming a popular tourist destination, thanks to its featuring in several Bollywood movies. Being a seaside town, Mandvi has been blessed with pleasant weather all the year through. The vast expanse of its clean beaches had made it a popular destination even in ancient times. The Rulers of Kutch State made it their summer retreat and built the beautiful Vijay Vilas Palace.
Mandvi is a town with municipality in the Kutch district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is a unique town which captures the true Gujarat, Kutchi culture. It was once a major port of the region and summer retreat for Maharao (king) of the Cutch State. Mandvi also incorporates the neighboring villages of Nagalpur and Moti Rayan. Mandvi is a town of merchants and seamen, both mutually benefiting from each other. The city has a four-hundred-year-old ship building industry. Mandvi old city was enclosed in the fort wall and remains of the fort wall can still be seen.

We visited this beautiful beach of Mandvi on our road trip to Gujarat, after visiting Ekal Ka Rann and Dholavira village.
Mandvi Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Gujarat and have different types of watersports activities available, one can enjoy horse ride, camel ride or a bike ride. It has multiple food stalls options available on the beach. Also, it has a changing rooms facility available with minimum charges. One can enjoy the beautiful sunset on this beach or have a scenic walk below the giant windmills at the beach.

Another attraction on the Mandvi beach is the windmills which are significantly huge located on the right hand side on the beach itself. These were set up as part of Asia’s first Windmill Project in 1983.

Post visiting Mandvi Beach we headed towards Bhuj for Lunch then started the journey to The Great White Desert on our self ride to Gujarat Trip.
