Sinhagad Fort - A Morning Monsoon Trekking

Sinhagad Fort is also unknown as “The Lion’s Fort” and most remarkable for the battle of Sinhagad in 1670.It is located at the center of a chain of other forts such as Rajgad, Purandar and Torna Fort. It was strategically built to provide natural protection due to its very steep slopes. The walls and bastions were constructed only at key places. There are two gates to enter the fort, the Kalyan Darwaza and Pune Darwaza which are positioned at the south east and north-east ends respectively.

Arthur’s Seat is popularly known as the Queen of all the points in Mahabaleshwar; it is named after Sir Arthur Malet who lost his wife and daughter in a disastrous ferry accident in the Savitri River.
